Faded Letters

The Plot Thickens – From the Very Beginning
The weekend was creative, but Saturday had more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan script.
First, I finally decided to finish editing my second book, Cross-Referencing Creativity.
Then, I accidentally stumbled upon Allison (with two Ls!) Rossi’s post on LinkedIn about being a hobby hoarder, and two comments later, I was mentally rummaging through the fabrics I had at home that would best fit a spring shirt.
Right about that time I switched from the mental selection to the actual one, a friend called to ask what I was doing – and less than an hour later, we were buying homemade olive oil from a local dealer just a few blocks away.
After I finally returned home, I realized I needed some rest, and once rested, I came to the conclusion that it was too late to disturb the neighbors with the sound of the sewing machine. What can I say – I live surrounded by walking noise detectors. 🙄
But creativity has a mind of its own and a tendency to unleash itself whether you like it or not, so instead, I made a pair of earrings. Again.
Recycling Old Ideas Through New Prisms
This is actually a remake of the original idea I had for my mom’s birthday. However, I wasn’t patient enough to wait for the earrings to dry, so I had to wing it and change the whole concept along the way.
I started with the same idea this time as well, but as I went, I realized that it didn’t work the first time because, well, the idea wasn’t feasible.
So I changed the concept – again – and for the first time in my life, I used chalk paint. And I can only say that this will definitely not be my last time to use chalk paint. 😁
Next, I imprinted the letter layer with an ink stamp and finalized the whole thing with Sharpie-drawn edges.
I am happy I decided to make earrings again because I got to use the jump ring opener once more.
The hooks are made from hypoallergenic material, like the previous ones, because I am sensitive to a bunch of different metals.
How everything turned out? Check it yourself below. 😏
This is also the perfect moment to remind you of the philosophy of creation:
IDEA ⇨ ACTION ⇨ IMPACT
What’s Your Prism?
Have you ever tried the same thing a few times only to ditch the trials and go for something completely different, new and unexpected? Like chalk paint, perhaps? 😁
