Bronze, Blues & Butterflies

The Wearable Art Journal
1. Jump Rings & Butterfly Wings
2. Faded Letters
3. Bronze, Blues & Butterflies

This little project is part of my Summer Goals, more specifically – 5 Small Goals: Creative Project #1.

I made it the day after publishing the goals, but it took me a while (≈ month) to make the last part of the video of me wearing it.

What can I say, I do not like the camera, and the camera does not like me… it’s a hate-hate situationship.

I haven’t made a necklace in quite some time, so I thought, What better way to kick off the goal spree than with a necklace?

Old Beads, New Magic

Believe it or not, the beads are about 20 years old. I bought them when I was studying. Even then, I was an avid jewelry maker. 🤭 They’ve been recycled so many times I’ve lost count.

The butterfly pendant is about 10 years old too. I bought it along with a similar-style heart when I stumbled upon them in a craft store. The heart was used right away for my friend’s birthday necklace, and the butterfly has been waiting for the day it could finally spread its wings and fly.

The leather string is also a few years old, so you could say that the idea has finally reached its sizzling point and that it was time for the old supplies to make a boom.

You can see the final project below.
