There are so many things happening in this post I don’t even know where to start.

Perhaps the beginning would be a good idea?

Perhaps.

Without Further Ado

The year has been rather hectic, and it seems I started more things than I finished. And I already had a lot to finish from last year.

So, on Friday night, in the midst of the unholy hours, while I was flirting with insomnia and musing about my productivity, the backburner, and the fact that it’s summer, a brilliant idea dawned on me (no pun intended).

Why don’t I make a summer to-do list of several personal projects that are nearly finished but, for some reason, ended up on the backburner, mix in a few creative sparks, and both build up some accomplishment vibes *and* have some fun doing it – by September?

I was thinking about the what and the how, so I decided to use a little time management technique I like to resort to called the 1-3-5 Rule.

This is a method I wrote about in The Essential 52: 52 Time Management Techniques for 52 Tightly Packed Weeks. I’ll share more about it in a separate post (if you see a link here, it means it’s been added after this was written), but I’ll stick to the essentials in this one.

The 5 Ws & H Framework

Let me elaborate on this little project with the help of the 5Ws & H Framework, which I’ve already mentioned in earlier posts.

This framework is used in a wide range of fields, from journalism and research to communication, leadership, and project planning, to name a few.

We use it a lot in PREXcoaching®, especially for storytelling, problem solving, and reporting, but I’ll go into more detail in a separate post (again, if there’s a link here; it was added later).

To keep it simple, I’ll stick with the essentials here as well, so I’ll only use the framework to put things into perspective.

Who?

🔹Biljka & the finest selection of a very long To-Do List.

What?

🔹Setting up personal summer goals & following through.

You can see the full list above and I’ll follow up with details in another post (you know the drill: if there’s a link here; it was added later).

Where?

🔹Either online or wherever the creative spark ignites, as long as the location allows.

When?

🔹Summer 2025, more specifically, from July 5 to August 31.

Why?

🔹There are three main reasons:

  • To declutter the schedule from several projects that are virtually finished
  • To have fun doing random, new creative projects
  • To start the motor running for September, fueled by good vibes.

How?

🔹By using the 1-3-5 Rule, which includes 1 big task (or in this case – project/objective/goal), 3 medium ones, and 5 small ones.

Wish me luck!
