Another week, another fresh start, and yet another delightfully unapologetic post – this time on self-awareness.

Here’s a short list of self-scorching habits you might want to take heed of if you wish to navigate safely to the shore of the weekend.

  • We overthink.
  • We don’t give it enough thought.
  • We say yes when we mean no.
  • We say no when we’re afraid of saying yes.
  • We apologize too much.
  • We don’t apologize when we should.
  • We overexplain things.
  • We don’t give enough explanation.
  • We pretend to care.
  • We pretend not to care.
  • We try to fix things we didn’t break.
  • We ignore the things we broke.
  • We solve other people’s problems.
  • We postpone dealing with our problems indefinitely.
  • We hope people will change.
  • We hope change will not come for us.
  • We take responsibility for external circumstances.
  • We don’t take responsibility for our actions and behaviors.
  • We rationalize when people treat us poorly.
  • We take for granted people’s kindness.
  • We have no boundaries.
  • We have walls around us.
  • We think we’re too much.
  • We think we’re not enough.
  • We stay when we’re not wanted.
  • We leave because we’re afraid people won’t want us.
  • We are who we think the world wants us to be.
  • We are everyone except who we really are.

And that pretty much sums it up. Does it, though?
