Tip of the Day: Happiness
I learned a long time ago that the recipe for happiness is regularly decluttering your connections. By letting go of what no longer serves you, you make space for what truly does.
Fortunately, I was very young when I learned:
If they don’t put a smile on your face – let them go.
If the time spent with them doesn’t inspire you – let them go.
If you can’t sit with them in silence – let them go.
If you don’t feel fueled after meeting them – let them go.
If you need to walk on eggshells around them – let them go.
If you need to tone down your voice around them – let them go.
If you need to dim your light around them – let them go.
If you can’t learn anything from them or with them – let them go.
If they never make you think – let them go.
If they never say no or disagree with you – let them go.
If they make you feel: sad, distressed, annoyed, anxious, exhausted, drained, overwhelmed, defeated, suffocated, powerless, dismissed, insignificant, frustrated, detached, indifferent, insecure, unworthy, unsettled, empty, numb – LET THEM GO!
You have much less time than you think, and you owe it to yourself to be happy.
Life is too short for meaningless connections.
