A Sock Shenanigan, Again

This Sock Saga never gets old. For Socks’ Sake…

This morning, I was talking to my friend over the phone – sort of – and hanging out the clothes when I realized that I had ten pairs of socks hanging: two sets of five pairs, all of which I recently bought.

I mulled over this new revelation a bit and asked my friend, “Do you think sock manufacturers hate us?”

She laughed, and I shrugged my shoulders.

Having finished the talk, I cast yet another stern look at the socks.

And then it hit me – this could be a quaint little video!

Getting Down to Business

I contemplated the set of tools I usually use for making/editing videos. After considering several potential combos I made in my head, I decided to go with the following:

First, I found the poor little man representing Every Sock Company Ever among the icons on SVG Repo.

I made the “slides” in Affinity Publisher 2 – simple, clean, and minimalistic.

Having exported them as JPGs, I uploaded them to Edits – Instagram’s video editing app. (I have to admit, I worked with several similar apps, and Edits has rather quickly become one of my favorits.) I added the text and adjusted the timing.

For the music, I went to Freepik and found a super cute tune called Twirly Whirly by Lou Ki (Thanks, Lou Ki!), which I imported into the video.

And voilà – Every Sock Company Ever was born. 😊
