Totally random POV: you accidentally stumble upon a pricelist from July 2022… and compare (some of) the prices in the same bar in January 2026.
With the switch to euro on July 1, 2023, and the rampant inflation of 12.7 % that peaked in 2022 (yes, only a few months earlier the prices were even lower), followed by rates of 4.5%, 3.8%, and 3.1% in 2023, 2024, and 2025 respectively*, I kind of miss the time when we were so poor we could go out and get (tipsy)^n without triggering a liquidity crisis (with the emphasis on liquid).
Still, I guess the main difference between then and now is that back then, we couldn’t handle all the liquor, and today, our wallets cannot.
