The Language Prism

Yesterday I wrote a blog post on backronyms tinged with Monday Blues.

Today, I spontaneously wrote another backronym for Tuesday. Then, as a joke, I made another one in Croatian. And then – deliberately – another one in Spanish.

Interestingly, this makes an excellent language and coaching exercise. It’s packed with deep emotional resonance as we can feel the impact words have on us, as well as their weight across languages – in terms of native vs. foreign/acquired.

It also reflects the culture of the creator/writer, celebrating their linguistic identity. Not to mention, it’s a kind of multilingual storytelling that blends translations, avoids repetition, and promotes uniqueness.

Obviously, we are talking about translating emotions, contexts, and settings, not actual wording. Sort of like a language prism that reflects everything but language.

Plus, it’s insanely fun.
