Grab the Egg – with a Twist!
The Original
For those of you who like fast-paced, fun-charged coordination game – here’s a twist on the classic Head, Shoulders, Knees and Cup.
This game requires two players and one cup. Whoever grabs it first – wins.
It’s popular in many types of education, training, camps and sports activities. Coaches, teachers, and team leaders use it to break the ice and fire up the energy.
This fast-paced game boosts reaction time, sharpens focus and listening skills, encourages movement and coordination, and – builds healthy competition and team spirit. Plus – it’s insanely fun.
The Twist
I played this game in a Croatian version with an Easter twist. Well, actually, a few of them.
Introducing the egg is not really a novelty, as there are various versions of the original game which can be played on different occasions.
However, I added the word “Zgrabi”, which means “grab”, and then added repetition for the extra rhythm and euphony. This increased the load on reflexes and coordination, as well as built up suspense.
In addition, bringing more body parts to the table – in both singular and plural forms – made the whole game more complex and challenging, keeping players on their toes, so to say.
All of these elements shifted the focus to verbal instead of physical patterns, honing active listening as well as pacing and leading skills, not just coordination and directed movements.
Enjoy!

Have you tried playing the games with your own spices?
For example, rubber ducks for developers, pens for bookworms, or bowties for fancy parties?
