Connect-8: The Weekend Edition
In a nutshell
The whole world has gone mad for Connect 8 Words games, so I thought I’d throw my own Connect-8 challenge into the mix this Saturday.
Ever since Lewis Carroll invented his famous word ladder game, word association puzzles have sparked curiosity in players all over the world.
These games are very popular with casual players and can be found in newspapers, websites, or apps such as Connect the Words, or Word Chain.
The latest craze is the viral Connect 8 Words game by Budali Studios, which gained popularity on platforms like TikTok through live challenges.
Playing benefits
Apart from being fun, association games are also popular in educational settings.
As mentioned in previous posts, association games are great for building vocabulary, practicing spelling, and improving language fluency.
They are also a valuable tool for boosting working memory, enhancing executive function, and encouraging strategic thinking.
Play the Game
I’m sure you’ve already played Connect 8 Words, but if not, here are the rules.
You must connect a chain of 8 linked words, where each adjacent pair makes up a compound word or a familiar phrase. For example: dog – house; house – party; party – game; and so on.
The first word is revealed, and the rest show only their first letters, with the other letters hidden as blanks. There are five different word strings in total – fill them all in to crack the set.
Also – since it’s the weekend, and I know how frustrating it can be when you can’t finish a game – you can use as many hints as you want to reveal the current word.
But remember – it’s nice to win the game, but the sense of accomplishment is even greater if you do it on your own. 😉
Good luck!
