Mood of the day: collecting my proverbial balls as a safety net to publish my…
Party, Anyone?

Summer is a busy time for me because most of us (my friends, family, and I) have birthdays at some point.
Today’s post is dedicated to my friend who’s collecting props for her birthday party as we speak. This has, obviously, served as an inspiration for me to make my own twist on this old, balloon-popping game that brings back a lot of memories.
The Origin
Balloon-popping games originate from classic carnival and arcade games. Back then, players used darts to pop balloons and win prizes.
During the 2000s, simple digital versions became popular in early browser-based Flash games.
“Popping” provides instant satisfaction because it’s quick, visible, and auditory, so the games often serve the purpose of stress relievers.
Besides stress relief, balloon-popping games are also excellent for practicing hand-eye coordination and focus. They improve motor skills, response time, and impulse control.
Fun fact: Bloons was one of the first balloon-popping games to hit more than 10 million downloads on mobile devices.
The Twist
Instead of popping balloons, your task is to collect party props. But be careful – if you collect a pushpin, all props will pop, and the game is over.
The goal is to collect as many party props as you can in a minute, and the game will save your best score locally.
As time goes on, the speed of the game will increase – so keep that focus sharp!
🎉 Party Pop!
